Bruja (Witch in Spanish) is an AR sculpture in memory of all the people that were executed for witchcraft. We chose to place the AR sculpture at the site of the physical statue of Maximilian I (Elector of Bavaria). In 1600 in Munich he ordered the imprisonment and show trial of the Pappenheimer family who were tortured and burned along with their supposed accomplices.
They were made into scapegoats and received exemplary punishment for a plethora of crimes they didn´t commit. Twelve people died in what is considered one of the worst and most cruel witch trials in history.
May they rest in power.
May humanity be enlightened by the flame of their candor. Witchcraft is not a crime.
